My Biography
I’m Pearlyn, the current President of HWUMSA, and I am running for a second term to continue advocating for students and enhancing our university experience. Over the past year, I have worked to strengthen student engagement, introduce impactful initiatives, and foster a more inclusive community. My leadership is driven by a deep commitment to ensuring every student’s voice is heard and valued.
My Manifesto
I stand for continuity, progress, and empowerment. My goal is to build upon the successes of my first term, ensuring better student welfare, stronger community engagement, and more opportunities for personal and professional growth. I will continue pushing for improvements in academic support, campus facilities, and career development while fostering a vibrant, student-led environment where everyone thrives.
What motivated me to nominate myself?
My passion for student leadership and advocacy has grown throughout my tenure as HWUMSA President. I have witnessed firsthand the challenges students face and the positive impact of strong representation. Running for a second term allows me to continue unfinished initiatives, expand on successful projects, and further uplift the student community. I believe in the power of student voices, and I am committed to ensuring they drive meaningful change.
My top three priorities
- Stronger Student Voice & Representation – Ensuring student concerns are heard and acted upon by university management, improving transparency in decision-making, and creating more student-led initiatives.
- A More Engaging & Supportive Campus Experience – Organizing more social events, leadership programs, and student networking opportunities to foster a stronger sense of belonging within HWUM.
- Enhanced Student Welfare – Strengthening mental health support, financial aid, and campus facilities.
