My Manifesto
- Create an inclusive space where every student feels seen, heard, and supported, with clear pathways for feedback and meaningful action. - Encourage and organize engaging events that are accessible, improved, and enjoyable for all. Represent your voice by listening actively and bringing your ideas and concerns to the team. - Open to feedback, discussions and advice, building trust and connections through open communication. - Committed to positive change by turning ideas into actions that strengthen the HWUM community.
What motivated me to nominate myself?
I was motivated to join because I believe a strong community is built on connection, understanding, and support. I wanted to be part of a team that listens to people’s voices and turns them into meaningful action. Through working closely with clubs and staff, I saw how important communication and coordination are in creating a supportive environment. Most importantly, I enjoy working with people and believe everyone deserves to feel heard, included, and valued. This motivation continues to drive my commitment to building a stronger community for all.
My top three priorities
- Strengthening communication and feedback channels: I aim to create clear and accessible pathways for students and clubs to share feedback, ensuring concerns are heard, addressed, and followed up with meaningful action. - Improving event planning, management, and accessibility: I will work closely with clubs and staff to support well-organised events, improve coordination, and ensure activities are inclusive and accessible to all students. - Fostering unity and inclusivity within the community: I will focus on building stronger connections among students, clubs, and committees, creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
What would I bring to the role?
I envision bringing a leadership style centred on listening, empathy, and collaboration. With my experience as a PD Officer under the Community team, I understand the operational challenges faced by clubs and the importance of effective communication with staff. Through this role, I hope to strengthen trust between HWUMSA, HWUM, and individual students by representing student voices responsibly and transparently. By encouraging open dialogue, improving event experiences, and promoting inclusivity, I aim to contribute to a more connected, supportive, and vibrant community that positively impacts every student.
