My Biography
I am a Year 2 Actuarial Science student and the current President of the Dodgeball Club. I previously served as Vice President of the club and as Class Representative for the Foundation in Science January 2023 cohort. I enjoy building connections and bringing people together to create a positive and meaningful impact.
My Manifesto
As Vice President of Sports, my goal is to expand and strengthen the university sports community by improving its visibility and promotion across the university. I aim to create a more accessible and supportive environment by streamlining club management processes and providing incentives that empower sports clubs to deliver higher-quality experiences. Through stronger promotion and better coordination, I seek to enhance engagement, encourage wider participation, and ensure a positive and meaningful sports experience for the entire university sports community.
What motivated me to nominate myself?
My consistent involvement in the sports community and passion for creating a positive and inclusive environment motivated me to step forward. Having witnessed both the strengths and challenges within the sports community over multiple academic terms, I felt a strong responsibility to contribute and help drive meaningful improvements. I nominated myself because I believe I can make a difference by strengthening coordination, improving promotion, and supporting sports clubs in creating better experiences for the wider university community.
My top three priorities
1.Ensure HWUMCUP is properly organised and effectively promoted across the university. 2. Actively push and expand exposure for sports club events and training sessions to improve attendance and participation rates. 3. Revive and organise inter-university competitions, with the main focus on bringing back Watt Games.
What would I bring to the role?
I will bring strong leadership, organisational skills, and a positive, inclusive mindset to the role, supported by extensive experience within the university sports community. As a current sports club president and having previously served in multiple leadership roles, I have gained firsthand experience in club management, event coordination, and team leadership across several academic terms. My active involvement in the sports community has enabled me to understand both the operational challenges and diverse needs of different sports clubs. This experience allows me to remain adaptable, promote inclusivity, and provide practical support to clubs in planning, promoting, and delivering their activities. I am committed to applying my experience and skills to strengthen coordination, improve promotion, and contribute positively to the continued growth of the university sports community.
