My Biography

I am a Year 2 Business Administration student and currently serve as a class representative. I am also the incoming MHR Lead for Ariston for the 2025/2026 term. Through these roles, I have developed a strong appreciation for organisation, collaboration, and clear communication when working in a team. Throughout my academic journey, from high school to university, I have been actively involved in group work, clubs, and team-based environments where initiative and cooperation were essential. I naturally take on both supportive and leadership roles, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and that everyone remains aligned. Coming from a Filipino background and having studied in Dubai — a multicultural environment — I have been exposed to a wide range of perspectives and cultures. This experience has strengthened my ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds. With experience collaborating across different groups, I strive to create structured systems that allow teams to function smoothly and effectively.

My Manifesto

As your Secretary, my goal is to support and strengthen the backbone of HWUMSA through organisation, transparency, and collaboration. I believe that a well-managed student association enables better events, clearer communication, and a stronger student voice. If elected, I will maintain accurate and well-organised records, ensure timely and clear communication of information, and support the committee in operating efficiently. I am committed to carrying out my responsibilities with professionalism while remaining approachable and responsive to students’ needs. Through structured administration and teamwork, I aim to help HWUMSA better serve the student body and enhance the overall university experience.

What motivated me to nominate myself?

I nominated myself for the position of Secretary because I genuinely believe I have the qualities required to be an effective and impactful secretary. I place strong value on organisation and clear communication, which I believe are essential for any student association to function smoothly and successfully. I am motivated by the opportunity to contribute behind the scenes and ensure that HWUMSA operates in an organised and reliable manner. Through my experience working in various team environments, I have seen how clear systems and structured processes can significantly improve outcomes. I hope to apply these skills to support the committee and help create a more organised, efficient, and dependable student experience.

My top three priorities

1. Maintain clear and consistent communication Ensuring that information, updates, and decisions are communicated accurately and promptly to committee members and students. 2. Organised and transparent administration Maintaining well-structured records, meeting minutes, and documentation to promote accountability and continuity within HWUMSA. 3. Strong committee support and coordination Assisting committee members through efficient scheduling, follow-ups, and organisation to help the team function cohesively and effectively.

What would I bring to the role?

As Secretary, my vision is to anchor HWUMSA in structure and professionalism. For the association, I will ensure seamless internal coordination and administrative continuity, allowing our committees to focus on impact rather than logistics. For HWUM, I aim to uphold a standard of student leadership that reflects the excellence of our university. Most importantly, for the students, I will be more than an administrator; I will be a dependable point of contact. By ensuring transparency and accessibility, I want every student to feel informed, supported, and confident that HWUMSA is a capable advocate for their interests.
